#DYU Chronicles

What If we were just to live in the moment?
What if we were just to accept that we cannot control everything?

Well, then, the world would have probably ended sooner as we would know what is called a more peaceful place. Perhaps, we would even go as hard as to appreciate our lives and be thankful for what we have instead of desperately  chasing after what we do not have. maybe, we would even go as far as being happy for those who have what we do not have, we, maybe, could have learned to encourage and respect others instead of constantly envying and killing each other.

Hm, this is nothing but a dream and wishful thinking. I have learned to realize that we have got nothing on time. What should be will be, but only in its own (best) time. We very seldom know why things happen the way they do and at the time they happen, but time has its way of proving itself. So, feel like everything is turning upside down around you and you cannot get anything right, well, it is not yet the time and make a list of all the things that are going alright, then, you’ll see all the goods that surround you. Let us stop comparing ourselves to our neighbors, you will only know how to be you.

What if we would just stop wasting our time?

Is social media ruining your relationship?

I bet a good number of you reading this will answer yes to this question. However, the real answer to this question depends on different other personal questions. The questions you should ask yourself are: “how are you using social media?” Are you allowing social media into your relationship?” And what are you doing that is destroying your relationship?”

Sadly, many of us, sometimes, ignore our real problems. Some of us, unleash these problems on social media and lastly, some of us just find our problems on social media. While the apparent connection between all three aspects can be social media, we must also determine how are these people using social media and why?

Personally, I use social media (Facebook) to catch up with old friends. It is my way of reconnecting and sometimes I use it as an advertising tool for my businesses. Now, I can proudly say that social media is nowhere around my relationship or my personal/private life. Therefore, in the case my relationship is destroyed, I’ll only have myself and my partner to blame for the ruin.

Unfortunately, not all of us can truthfully claim that. As it is clear that many use social media to meet people outside of their relationship, to expose or broadcast their relationship from the happiest moments to the most miserably, heart-wrenching moments. Some of us use it ‘supposedly’ solve our problems by posting your situations asking for people’s opinions or use it in lieu of a personal sitting, face to face discussion. In other words, some of us use social media to avoid facing and fixing our problems. This is the most dangerous way of letting social media into your relationship as it is not only immature, it takes away or ignore the real problems, leaving no rooms for fixing since we cannot determine the cause in the first place.

We all know we should, under no circumstances, not to let people and social media into our relationship, ever.  So, until you can decide in which of these three categories of people you belong and come up with a resolution, your relationship will know many headaches, but let me reassure you that it is not social media’s causing. It is time we look within and start taking responsibilty for our actions. Just as social media can help us, if we misuse it, we can destroy our whole being. So, the deal is to use it moderately, use it smart and keep our private life just that, private.  Try it and let me know how it works out for you!

‘War on Ebola’

So, this guy thought it was cool to just stop in the middle of boarding to pull out his “War on Ebola” magazine and put it in my face or something. I get it, it’s a serious disease but come on people, let us be real here. Ebola is not a new disease, it is not the end of the world. Face it, we have to be cautious at all times, always, not just when a disease pops up.
There is no need to be extra and it should be an excuse to treat people like crap. We get it, you wanna be safe, but spare us, well, spare me the ‘extraness’, the drama. Stop picking when and where to use sanitary precautions. Always be aware, alert and cautious.

Hello folks,

I know I’m extremely late but I still want a chance to wish everyone a very Happy New Year full of success, health and prosperity. Remember, resolutions should be made every day and most importantly, they should be executed. Every day is a new beginning as it is a blessing. Never forget to thank and praise God for every breathing second as we do not deserve any of his blessings. Some people did not even get a chance to wish their loved one Happy New Year. That should be our number one resolution and motivation. Let us make the best of this new year and keep working as hard as we can!

On a different note, I have questions to answer and new discussions coming up muy pronto (I told you I was learning Spanish, hopefully I’ll be able to write a whole post in Spanish soon.)

Have a blissful day and enjoy!

November is IN!!!

The Countdown has officially begun! You’re either a November baby or you’re just a loser (joking).

This has to be the best month of the year besides, well, November (laugh). I am really enjoying it and I want to send a special shout out to all my November babies (Scorpio and Sagittarius). Everybody knows Scorpio is the best sign, but we won’t get too much into that right now.

Anyway, I want to say hello to November and wish Happy Birthday to all my November babies, wherever you are. Let us enjoy and have the time of our lives once again and remember to thank God for another year!

When did Spanish become Miami’s official language?

Nowadays, you can’t even get a job if you are not from a full-blown Spanish-speaking country. I do understand, there are a lot of Spanish speakers out here. Honestly, not all jobs in every area in Miami need all Spanish speakers. The funny thing is they specifically ask, “do you speak Spanish or are you fluent?” They really blocked you there, there is absolutely no way to work around that. You either tell the truth or you lie- which won’t help you. I know a bit of Spanish, but this question totally threw me off and when I replied, I do speak some Spanish, the man made sure, he specified, “but are you fluent?” I really could not have lied to the man because it really isn’t in my best interest anyway, but I was looking forward to that job. Then, the man said, I’m sorry, unfortunately we need someone who is fluent.

Now, that is understandable if it is just one or a couple of jobs/places. However, that’s not the case, every single job in Miami (all around Miami) requires your fluency in Spanish. I just need someone to tell me when Spanish became an official language and such a requirement for all and every position. I have battled with English, now that I can actually claim my fluency in English, I am finding out, I need to go back that road for Spanish or else. I don’t know what it is, but it hurts though because I can’t afford to move anywhere right now. Plus, I need a job to at least be able to move elsewhere or take Spanish classes, but that seems to be impossible.

So, what exactly are people like me to do because I just don’t know.

You’ll never know what could have been unless you make it be. Chances are it may and may not work, but the thing is knowing that you did try. If you want something to happen, only you can make it happen. You cannot afford to count on others and wait on them to do the things you want done. You need to step up and do what needs to be done. Try your best always and make your own miracles.
